What amount of coverage can I expect to get with a bottle of Mulch Brite?
You can expect to cover approximately 200 to 300 square feet depending on whether you are re-coloring previously dyed mulch or coloring new mulch for the first time. The amount of coverage is based on how heavily or lightly the application of colorant is applied.
Can I change my mulch color with Mulch Brite?
Yes you can. Follow normal direction to go from lighter colored mulch to a darker mulch color (example cedar colored mulch to a black mulch). However, if you want to go from dark mulch to a lighter mulch color (example black mulch to red mulch), the darker mulch will require multiple colorant applications to make it lighter.
What types of mulches can I color with Mulch Brite?
Mulch Brite will color any type of bark or wood chip mulch.
Does my yard mulch have to be dry in order to apply Mulch Brite ?
Yes the mulch in your yard must be dry in order to receive the maximum benefits of the colorant.
How long will Mulch Brite last?
One can expect that Mulch Brite will last through one growing season (e.g. in the Northern climates you will have to apply about once a year, and in the Southern climates you may need to apply twice year.) Other factors which will impact how long the colorant will last include how much rain/snow and sun your yard’s mulch receives a year.
How long does it need to dry?
Allow at least 7 hours of drying time after application.
DO NOT apply during misty or rainy conditions.
Is Mulch Brite safe to use on my flower beds or around trees?
Yes, Mulch Brite is environmentally friendly. It contains natural pigmentations which will not kill or harm plants, flowers and trees. However Mulch Brite could color your plants, flowers and trees. Please be careful when spraying the product so that you only spray on the mulch. For best results around leafy plants we recommend using a handheld 32 oz sprayer/mister.
Will Mulch Brite stain my clothing?
Yes, it will stain your clothing. We recommend that you use old clothing while applying Mulch Brite.
Will Mulch Brite stain my concrete, brick or wood surfaces?
Yes, you should use a spray shield when spraying around sensitive surfaces such as concrete, brick or wood. If accidently sprayed on sensitive surfaces rinse immediately with cold water.
Can I use Mulch Brite in a sprayer I have previously used weed killer in?
No. We recommend that you only use a dedicated sprayer for Mulch Brite applications.
